Ghost Shrimp don't get much attention, but they're one of the more interesting freshwater invertebrates you can keep. Their completely transparent bodies let you watch their internal organs and digestive system at work an oddly engaging sight in any tank.
Beyond the novelty, they're diligent scavengers that clean up uneaten food and detritus from the substrate. Hardy, inexpensive, and peaceful, Ghost Shrimp fit easily into community tanks and are also commonly kept as live food for larger fish.
