Heartleaf Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum) produces small, glossy, heart-shaped leaves on vines that will either trail from a shelf or climb a support, depending on how you train them. Growth is fast under decent light, and the plant tolerates a fair amount of inconsistency in care.
Like Pothos, it can be grown with its roots submerged in water instead of soil, which makes it a good fit for open-top aquariums and terrariums, it pulls nutrients directly from the water while filling out the display with trailing foliage. It's one of the more efficient houseplants for exporting nitrates from aquarium water.
