Hillstream Loaches look and behave unlike almost anything else kept in the hobby. Their flattened, ray like body carries an intricate reticulated pattern of cream and brown, and it's built to cling to smooth rocks and glass in fast-flowing streams.
They need high-flow, well-oxygenated water with smooth rocks and glass to graze on, making them a good match for river or stream biotope aquascapes. Hillstream Loaches are peaceful and useful algae grazers in the right setup.
