Hygrophila Polysperma

Hygrophila Polysperma is a fast-growing, beginner-friendly stem plant. Its long, narrow, lance-shaped leaves grow in opposite pairs along each stem, filling the midground and background with lime-green color and a bushy shape.

Native to Southeast Asia, this plant is adaptable — it handles a wide range of water conditions, tolerates low light, and grows without CO2 injection, which makes it one of the easier plants to keep healthy long-term. Its fast growth also makes it a good natural water purifier, absorbing excess nutrients and helping keep algae in check.

Whether you're setting up a first planted tank or filling out the background of an established one, Hygrophila Polysperma delivers reliable growth even with a fairly hands-off approach to care.
