Microsorum Pteropus 'Windelov,' better known as Lace Java Fern, is a variant of Java Fern with a distinctive leaf shape. Its long, strap-like, bright green leaves branch at the tips into multiple antler-like forks, giving each leaf an ornate, lacy look you won't find on other aquatic plants.
Like its parent species, Windelov does best attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape rather than planted in substrate. It needs no CO2 injection and tolerates low to moderate light, which makes it approachable even for newer keepers. Its slow, steady growth means it stays tidy with minimal upkeep.
Whether used as a focal point on driftwood or a textural accent in the midground, Lace Java Fern brings a distinct look to an aquascape. Once established, it's difficult to kill and keeps its intricate form for years.
