The Peacock Gudgeon is a nano fish that punches above its size, with males showing blue and yellow flanks, a red-edged spot near the tail, and a humped forehead reminiscent of a miniature jewel cichlid. Females carry similar patterning with a yellow belly.
Despite the exotic look, this species is straightforward to keep — peaceful, hardy, and well suited to planted community tanks with small tetras, rasboras, and shrimp. Peacock Gudgeons are cave spawners and will breed readily given suitable caves or PVC pipes.
