Swordtails are easy to identify thanks to the long, sword-like extension on the male's lower tail fin. They come in vivid color forms Red, Green, Pineapple, Sunset that add plenty of visual interest to a community tank.
Hardy and active, Swordtails prefer open swimming space and do best kept in groups. Males occasionally spar over territory but rarely cause real harm, and the species coexists peacefully with most other community fish.
