Boesemani Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia Boesemani)

Male Boesemani Rainbowfish display a distinctive split coloration vivid blue purple across the front half of the body, shifting to intense orange-yellow toward the rear. The contrast is sharp enough that it can look almost artificial under aquarium lighting.

This is an active, hardy, and peaceful schooling fish that does best in groups of six or more, showing off to best effect in a large, well-lit planted aquarium. Females carry more subdued coloration but share the same active temperament.
