Ludwigia Repens

Ludwigia Repens is an easy entry point into red stem plants. Its oval leaves shift from green to red depending on light intensity — the more light it gets, the deeper the red coloration becomes.

Native to North and Central America, Ludwigia Repens adapts well to a wide range of water conditions. It grows in moderate to high light with or without CO2, making it a solid option for both beginners and more experienced aquascapers.

Its fast growth rate makes it an effective nitrate absorber, which helps keep water quality in check while adding red and green color contrast to the tank. Once established, it fills in quickly and keeps its color as long as lighting stays consistent.
